Nevada Union's Colin Lee signed a letter of intent Friday to play basketball at Humboldt State University.

Lee averaged 17.5 points per game and 5.6 rebounds per game this past season. The Miners finished the season 9-14 overall, falling short of postseason but Lee earned MVP honors after playing in the Northern California All-Star Senior Showcase last month.

In the All-Star game, Lee scored 18 points.

Miner coach Dale Latimer was thrilled with Lee's opportunity.

“I had Colin for three years,” Latimer said. “He's an incredibly talented young man. He's going to get better and better as he gets older.”

Lee was just as excited for his opportunity as well.

“They have a really good team and it will be fun,” Lee said.

Humboldt State finished 26-4 overall this past season.

Blue Mountain basketball stars Hurley and Church sign with Humboldt State University


PENDLETON, OR ? Blue Mountain CC announced that Tavin Hurley, a 6?9 forward and Robbie Church, a 6?6 shooting guard have signed with Humboldt State University in Arcata, CA. Tavin is from Joseph, Oregon and Robbie is from Springfield, OR.

Both players are excited and looking forward to be playing at an NCAA Division II school next year.

Bishop Manogue sharpshooter Ethan Dillard will sign with Division II Humboldt State next week.

Dillard averaged 20 points and five rebounds per game this past season for the 4A state runner-up Miners, and was selected to the RGJ's All-North team.


Dillard made 102 3-pointers as a senior forward, including 10 in a single game in December. He also scored the game-winning basket in Manogue's upset of Bishop Gorman in the state semifinals.

Humboldt State was the California Collegiate Athletic Association champion last year.



Ethan is in the white jersey playing for Bishop Manogue out of Reno.
